Artist Bio

With an undergraduate degree in painting from the University of Illinois and a Masters degree with concentrations in sculpture and photography from Cranbrook Academy of Art, Matthew Kellen has been creating and studying art for over two decades. His education and exploration also includes numerous residencies and studies throughout the United States, England, and France.

Matthew creates portraits of himself, those he loves, and the moments shared between them as a form of public rumination. He strives to make physical an individual process, so that it may become shared experience.
